Windermere

Windermere is a beautiful town full of lots of history, located in Orange County near Winter Garden. Settlers originally came from Spain in 1564, bringing railroads and tourism with them. In 1910 Windermere Improvement Company helped develop the town and created citrus groves. Windermere has embraced its history, keeping some of its oldest architecture still intact, including its first-ever school.

It is about 2 miles with a population of 3,614 people. While Windermere is a small-town suburb that provides a nice escape from overly populated cities, it is only a few miles away from the hustle of downtown Orlando.

Windermere is the perfect town to raise a family with a welcoming community and tons of family-friendly activities. When it comes to education, Windermere has eight public schools, including the highly ranked Windermere Elementary School, Cornerstone Academy Charter, Bridgewater Middle School, Olympia High School, and West Orange High School.

Windermere is a beautiful town with gorgeous landscapes and bodies of water. The residents enjoy living amongst breathtaking lakes surrounded by the Butler Chain of Lakes, which is made up of 13 lakes and covers around 5,000 acres. The lakes are home to exciting wildlife that you can get a glimpse of during guided boat tours. Spend your days taking in the sun while boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing.

Additionally, Windermere is home to many community parks such as Central Park, Town Square, Lake Bessie Lakefront Park, Palmer Park, and more. While Windermere is known for its beautiful scenery, it still boasts endless retail opportunities. Additionally, just minutes away is Restaurant Row which has endless retail stores, restaurants, specialty shops, and spas. The Windermere community can often be found at Town Square Park, spending time with their family and neighbors.
